There's actually a random spawn point above embershard mine. When you first start the game,its like a hunter and his dog when you first approach it. The fleeing vampire can run into it if you get decently close to the point. I have seen the vamp near shimmermist spawn run into shimmermist cave and end up halfway in the cave.
